Cheap Canon XL2
Yahoo Answers For Cheap Canon XL2
Question I am looking for Canon XL2 (brand new). Could you inform me the place where selling cheap Canon XL2?
Price of its accessories also needed
Best Answer I don't know where the lowest price on it is, but I will offer you a word of caution- if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. A lot of websites will attempt everything they can to scam you out of your money- they'll have a price that's ridiculously low, and you'll order it ok on their website. After that, they'll call you to "confirm" your order and then tell you the camera does not come with batteries and so on, and these accessories that normally come with the camera cost hundreds more than they should so you end up paying more in the end. That is, if they even ship it to you. Check ResellerRatings (Link 1) before you buy from any store, and you should be able to root out any resellers who have a less than sterling reputation. One store I commonly buy from is listed in Link 2, and they usually are very competitive when it comes to pricing.

Question Does anyone know of any Canon dealers that have a cheap price on the XL2 MiniDV?
I'm looking for one but can't find a dealer that has one for less than $4,000.
Best Answer Man wouldn't that be nice. ive searched on google many times and the cheapest i could find with the store still being semitrustable was around $3000 or 3500. personally, i would go for a dvx100 or xL1s since the dvx has better cine control and the xL1s is basically the same as the xl2, with slightly less features and cheaper. if i were you i would go on google, froogle, or ebay, but i dont know how comfortable you are with spending that much money online. But hey it is a xl2 after all.

Question What camera to buy? Like Canon XL2?
I want to begin exploring making documentary films and music videos. I am used to the quality of shooting on a Canon XL2 but unfortunately financially Im not in a situation to buy one. Therefore Im looking for quite a cheap yet high spec camera which delivers excellent picture quailty and great functionality. Maybe Im asking the impossible but in a nutshell I need professional picture quality at a very reasonable price; not some tardy home movie quaility. Thanks in advance for your help.
Best Answer What's your budget? I will say go for a 3CCD model that Sony offers if your budget allows. For a less expensive option, the Canon GL2 maybe suitable for your budget needs and the picture quality are pretty good. But I have to warn you about the GL2, there's some problem with the "eject tape" error message that happens after some use. Mine happenes after 2yrs of extensive use. If you are going for the GL2, use it to do recording ONLY. Other than the "eject tape" error, it is a good 3CCD camcorder.

Question need movie cam! canon XL2?
hi,where can i buy canon XL2 Camcorder for cheap, please tell me of a trutwrthy place..not ebay! thanks
Best Answer First of all your not gonna find this camera undr $1500, you can probably get the xl1 for about 1500 (used) but defitenently not the xl2 for under 1500 maybe 2k. The xl2 is a pprosumer camera meaning for pros. The video quality of it is great with alot of toys on the manual. The price is great for the product you would be getting. Dont buy camera off of ebay, for this product you want it "new". So much can go wrong with these expensive cameras especially the lens. Try BHphoto.com or abesofmaine.com. Trust me, I'm a videographer and knows what I'm talking about.

Question Canon Xl2 help ....please?
Hey i've just started getting into making films so sorry if my knowledge isn't up to scratch, I heard about the Canon Xl2 which is a cheap and easy camera for making films for smaller projects and looks amazing especially because of the price. But there's only one thing i don't understand? I'm using a camcorder at the moment you know the sort of one you'd take on holiday but its really good for my standards, and I don't understand how you upload your videos to edit with a more advanced camera. Can you just plug in the wire and upload it from there or is it still tape. Yes I do come from a generation that never had cameras without a tape recorder but uploading and editing with no tape has confused me. So i don't know how to use tapes or anything any help.
Best Answer The Canon XL2 records video to miniDV tapes. You connect the camera to your computer using IEEE-1394 interface cable (FireWire). That would mean your computer would need to have a FireWire port. If your computer does not have one, you can buy a card and install it. They are cheap and it's easy to do. You can also get FireWire cards for laptops as long as the laptop has a card slot (not all do). See page 101 of the user's guide at link below for instructions on connecting to a desktop computer. You can use any video editing software that supports video capture from DV. Windows Movie Maker (PC) and iMovie (Mac) are free and they both can capture DV.

Question where can I find a cheap Canon XL1?
ok, so I am into filmmaking, an I want to buy a canon XL1 (or XL2) camcorder. I am in high school, so I am in need of a very cheap one (under $1000 CAD) and for sure in canada or US, because I can't pay customs on something so big. I also want as many power/AV/misc. cables, chargers, and cases/bags/straps and mics/lenses and accessories as possible. Anyone know where I could find that?
Best Answer Cheap is not the word when it comes to these. The best I found was $1,300 used.

Question What cheap camcorder has a decent optical viewfinder (not a small lcd)?
Are there camcorders that have one? (cheap ones, maybe semi-pro like canon XL2) A friend borrowed a camcorder, and it was one of 1000 dollars or more, and only had a stupid lcd optical viewfinder, the onces you find in bridge camera's And at a brief look, it even had no manual control settings like shutter speed and aperture
Best Answer a viewfinder with sufficient resolution to determine if a picture is in critical focus (like for HD) will cost over $800. that is why they are not a standard item on a cheap camcorder. it also explains why manual focus is not a good option either. as to manual aperature, again that would require a $2000 waveform monitor to correctly adjust. most people with camcorders don't want to carry around a hundred pounds of studio equipment and connecting cables when out in the field. and pay field engineer to make the adjustments. the features you mention are best implemented in a television studio.

Question Does anyone know where I can buy/rent the Canon XL2 for less than $4k?
I saw the quality in my film production class, and that was great! I didn't realize independent filmmaking was THAT expensive! lol. Canon XL2 3CCD MiniDV Camcorder w/20x Optical Zoom list price: $6,000 price: $3,600 (still not cheap enough. my textbook, from 2006, said it was $2.5k) http://www.amazon.com/Canon-XL2-MiniDV-Camcorder-Optical/dp/B0002OJYDS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1240393544&sr=1-1 I wanted to shoot a short film this summer. I have a camera, but it's 8 years old. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DCR-TRV320-DCRTRV320-Digital-Camcorder/dp/B00004U2JZ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1240394921&sr=1-1 Anyone know where I can buy or rent the Canon XL2 for less than $3.6k in the Santa Cruz, CA or San Jose, CA area, or something cheaper with same quality? I'll e-mail my professor about this for his thoughts. Also, under source, write "film student" "film professor", "Canon XL2 owner", or whatever you are. I also posted this in the Camcorders section. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090423150436AAs4mT8
Best Answer $3,399 from B & H, and they are a reputable company. And they have free shipping.

Question Which video camera is better than Canon XL2? It gives you film look and has just come out, and not years old?
I want to buy a video camera that gives you a smooth film look, so i can send my movies to film festival in order to break into film industry. But instead of spending about 50k on real motion picture cameras. I am looking to buy a good cheap one that gives the same look. I want to buy something better than Canon Xl2, that has just come out and is not old. Something other than Canon xl2. My friend has this one and I want to get something better than this. Something new too, if possible.
